Exhibition: 11–15 August, promenade in front of Hírös Agora
It is a great gift for many of us that we had the chance to establish together an animation studio that is still active today, and that we could work together for decades. Some of us have been with the studio from the very beginning, and not only as members of the creative team, but as owners of the company that operates the studio. Perhaps that is what helped us survive the challenges brought by the changes of the political, economic and cultural systems over the past fifty years .
Kecskemét Animation Film Festival is a great opportunity to showcase the history of the studio to our professional friends in an exhibition of 25 boards, and to present various selections of the films made here in the form of special screenings. The selection will feature the animated adaptations of works by 14 writers and poets, but there will be compilations of our series and international festival award-winning films as well.
We have also prepared some publications to celebrate this anniversary. One of them presents the films of the studio, and another one is about 50 Hungarian and foreign film directors who used to work or still work with the studio today. We will publish a Hungarian and English bilingual [P2] guide of the international reception of the 100 episodes of Hungarian Folk Tales, and, complete with a map, there will be an overview available of where in the world audiences may have seen seen our films. And of course we made a volume about the 36-year history of our festival too.
