Hungarian Producers, Vol. 1
Edited by Dr. Tamás Kollarik, a new volume of the Documenta Artis series of the Hungarian Academy of Arts Research Institute of Art Theory and Methodology is published.
From the preface: “Among previous volumes of Documenta Artis you can find the interview books Hungarian Screenwriters, Vol. 1 and Hungarian Animators, Vol. 1. In these publications contemporary artists speak about the role and status of their profession, the present and future of Hungarian cinema professionally, yet in a way adaptable for educational purposes. The aim of our present volume is the same as defined in Hungarian Screenwriters, Vol. 1: ‘in every area of art and science, it is essential and, due to the passing of time, irreplaceable to make the voice of contemporary artists, the witnesses of an era heard. The interview book could be useful for film and art historians, as the directly communicated thoughts of the artists are some of the most important and perhaps most credible sources in the process of getting to know and exploring the works created by them.’
The aim of the volume is to be easily used in education, and also to provide a point of reference for the critics, researchers, perhaps producers, or even the decision makers and professionals of film industry management in the present and in the future.”
