Balázs Baksa
Animated film director, digital graphic artist. He became interested in animation in 1972 at the Ixilon Studio in Pécs which was a group of amateur filmmakers. At the age of seventeen, he was the cinematographer of the short film titled Grail made at the Béla Balázs Studio. He worked at the Hungarian Television’s Regional Studio in Pécs, the Pécs atelier of Pannonia Film Studio and then in its Budapest stop-motion studio, where he was the cinematographer of Csaba Varga's mixed media films. He worked for Aladin Film Studio and Varga Studio as a cinematographer, director, designer and animator. From 1991 to 1993, he was the founder and studio manager of the Pécs studio of the International Cartoon Agency (ICA). Since 1995, he has been the owner of the Al-Ba Film Studio, where he works as a director, animator and graphic artist, and has been a contributor to numerous educational animated films and scientific illustrations. His most important works are: Grail, DIXI (clay animation series), Augusta (clay animation series), Hedgehog and His Friends (puppet animation series).
