The theme of the film is a centuries-old tradition still alive in Hungary ”minstrels” or village gleemen who go around to households wishing happiness and success to the dwellers and singing ancient lays. One such old, monotonous sounding lay is sung throughout the film by a group of young musicians. The graphic presentation, in its simplicity and purity, matches the spirit of these time-honoured rhymes.
