The inspiration for the film was a four-line poem written by the late János Pilinszky, an outstanding figure of contemporary Hungarian poetry. Focusing on artistic portrayals of the Holy Virgin, photographic and animation media are combined to capture an atmosphere and convey a lyrical sentiment by means of the continually changing spectacle.
