László István Tóth, animation specialist, started working at the Kecskemét Animation Film Studio (today: Kecskemétfilm) after his graduation from high school in 1989. During his career he has worked in multiple animation jobs and has been able to learn from the most acclaimed Hungarian animated film directors. He gained experience as a clean-up artist, animator and supervisor, and he has further broadened his knowledge in several Western European and Asian studios. Currently, he mostly works as a project manager and associate producer. Some well-known works made with his contribution include the feature films The Bears' Famous Invasion of Sicily, The Red Turtle, Pinocchio, The Secret of Kells, The Little Polar Bear, Laura’s Star, A Monkey’s Tale; the short films Bond, Istok, The Bards of Wales and the TV series Toldi and Hungarian Folk Tales.
His profession is well complemented by photography where his main motivations are the observation and shooting of geometrical forms in architecture or details of nature. The world of sunlight-induced projections—the shadow of the ornate stair railing, the fractal-like pattern of tree branches are among his favorite subjects. Most recently, he took this a step further by producing reflected, symmetric, abstract works also carrying a certain mystical content beyond the showing of authentic details.
